When is the class?
It's Sunday October 20 at 8 am PT / 11 am ET / 4 pm UK.
Can siblings or parents join?
Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it! One registration is good for the whole family. You can all share the same device or log in on separate devices.
Parents, join us and watch your connection to your child grow stronger.
How does it work?
When you sign up, you will immediately get instructions on how to log in to the Artist's Portal, which has your Zoom Link to class, and the Private Facebook Group for Parents and the Artists Hub (which has your bonus lessons and where you can connect with other parents and share your child's art).
What art supplies do I need?
Hardly any! I like to keep it simple and focus on the skills, not the fancy art supplies.
All you need for class is:
- a device with an internet connection and logged into the Private Facebook Group
- paper
- pencil
- eraser
- black marker or a pen like a Sharpie (not a ballpoint pen)
- For the Bonus Recorded Alcohol Marker Coloring Lesson, you'll need alcohol markers. See here for my recommended markers.
What if I want to attend, but we're busy?
I understand that life happens, so that's why you've got access to the replay through Monday October 28.
Is this for beginners or advanced students?
Brand new artists below the age of 7 who are still primarily drawing with stick figures will likely find this too advanced. Besides that, both beginner and advanced students will benefit! I'll be teaching both fundamental techniques and little known secrets so all young artists will benefit. We will also be addressing tips for overcoming perfectionism and our inner critic so everyone will walk away with helpful tips to grow in confidence!
What exactly are you drawing?
I teach how to draw almost everything in my Kids Cartoon Academy Membership, but in this Monster Animatronics Workshop, I'll be showing kids how to draw a base Five Nights at Freddy's style animatronic and show them how to customize it into their own. I and my members do this for endless character designs to make so many cool and creepy characters. You will also learn:
✅ The top 3D shapes that take their art to the next level.
✅ How to determine lifelike action poses using reference images
✅ The most effective combinations of 3D shapes for stunning results.
✅ How to add 3D textures that make their shapes pop.
✅ Little-known secrets to creating realistic animatronics.

My child isn't ages 7-14. Can they still join?
If they are 15 or older, they might not enjoy the class as much when it's filled with younger students.
If they are younger than 8, then they might be scared of the monsters we draw, and we might draw too fast for them.
That's why I recommend ages 8-14.
With that said, we've had 15-year-olds join, and even 5-year-olds. As long as they are under the age of 18, they are welcome to join us. Parents and guardians though are DEFINITELY encouraged to join us and draw along with their child! Parent after parent reports how they are thrilled with the unique bonding time.
