We add more and rotate them seasonally. But in every class, and with every drawing, your child is learning the essential techniques that make a difference in their art. Most families just sign up for the time that best matches their schedule. Sometimes the teachers rotate too, and even teach together, like we did in camp, but the lead teachers of each class are listed.

You can also switch between them on your own whenever your schedule changes. (You actually get access to all of the Zoom links inside your Members Portal, so you can choose on your own. We make it easy for you 😁)

You get the links to all of them and can choose whichever you want. You can even switch as skills improve and schedules change.

It's designed so that students get results from attending just one a week. (If you have some extra time, or your kiddo is turbocharged for extra learning, then feel free to attend more. Some do.) But you'll see results from just attending one a week, or even just watching the replays.

Our fastest class is the Advanced Saturday class (we used to call this ages 10-14 but did away with ages because ability does not correlate to age), and the slowest class is the Foundations Saturday class (used to be ages 6-9). The other classes are labeled "All Levels", which is a flexible intermediate pace.

For the most part, the same essential drawing techniques are taught across all classes. All the teachers plan our curriculum together, so you'll learn the important skills in any of the classes, from the basics of proportions and design to more advanced skills like perspective, shading, and backgrounds.

Remember, you get access to all of them, so you can try whichever ones you want.

We only open enrollment a few times each year so we can welcome new members together and give everyone the best onboarding experience.

We spend the rest of our year going all in on supporting our members.

We're here to walk you through step by step how to access all your incredible members-only content.

First, after purchasing, you're immediately sent the link to log in to the Members Portal.

You'll complete our Orientation in about 20 minutes which will help you and your child feel confident navigating your new membership.

Upon completing the Orientation, you'll unlock all your members-only content—weekly Zoom classes which you can join immediately, the members-only Community for Artists, and our Draw Now Library of over 300 hours of on-demand lessons.

For supplies, all you need is a device with an internet connection and Zoom, paper, pencil, eraser, black marker, and some coloring utensils.

You would have to wait for one of our future enrollment windows. We do a few of those a year. The annual membership always includes two months free compared to paying monthly.

However, the extra bonuses are a different story. Some of them, like the KCA Marker Bundle, are limited time and go away when this window closes. I can't promise what a future window will include, so the only thing you're guaranteed later on is the two months free.

We have plenty of students who are more comfortable with their cameras off, but if you want to volunteer or get your art featured, the camera should be on. We like students to feel comfortable and ease their way into more confidence on their own terms. Take it from our parents. They say it best:

Students get personalized feedback in the Community for Artists. Short positive feedback is left in comment form in the online community, and in-depth constructive video feedback is given in our Monthly Critique Masterclasses. Students can submit their art for review once a month in the Community for Artists to get a personalized review.

Due to the popularity of our live classes, we don't have time to give feedback on every single child's art in our live classes. Targeted feedback is given to the class as a whole. After having taught thousands of kids, we can usually anticipate common errors and preemptively address those in our teaching.

Some of our students' best results often come from the recorded on-demand tutorials. Students learn loads of new techniques and how to draw their favorite characters like they've never seen them before at their own pace with the ability to pause, rewind, and speed up.

That's because students are actively engaged in drawing for the majority of our one-hour sessions so it's easy to focus. And because anyone who has been in one of my camps already knows who we are and how we do things, we get to have a lot more drawing and a lot less talking/presentations in our weekly Zoom classes.

Plus, replays and recorded tutorials allow students to watch them in even shorter chunks and go at their own pace.

The projects are broken down into smaller, manageable steps, which can help to keep kids focused and on task. Zoom also keeps many kids more engage, knowing that I can see them and they can hold up their art, volunteer and potentially be called on, etc.

Learning to draw can help kids with screen addiction in a number of ways. First, drawing provides a purposeful and productive use of screen time, as kids are using technology to create and build something meaningful, rather than just passively consuming content. As I tell my students....create more than you consume. This can help to shift their relationship with screens from one of passive consumption to active creation.
 

They are also developing their critical thinking, creative problem-solving, metacognition, and other skills that can help to develop the brain in ways that may reduce the attraction to screens.

In fact, parents have reported already in our Facebook Group that our free classes have helped their child break their video game addiction. They haven't touched a screen in days and instead wake up early or come home from school and go straight to drawing. Beautiful!

Overall, drawing provides a constructive and educational way to engage with technology, which can help to reduce screen addiction and promote healthier screen habits.

As I like to suggest, join a class with us, then shut the screen and keep drawing, then go play outside! :) And lots of our families do just that.
